At the end of December 2025, the theatrical show-concert “The Blue Bird” will take place in Germany – a production that combines dramatic art with symphonic music. The performance offers the audience a rare opportunity to see two outstanding actresses on the same stage: People’s Artist of Russia Maria Mironova and theater and film actress Maria Golubkina. The production is directed by Sergey Sotnikov.
“The Blue Bird” is a symbolic fairy tale about the search for happiness, friendship, and love, written by the Belgian playwright Maurice Maeterlinck in 1905. Its philosophical depth and poetic spirit have long won the hearts of audiences around the world. In this new stage version, specially prepared for the European public, familiar lines come alive, filled with modern interpretation and vibrant emotions.
The play features fragments of symphonic music that enhance the atmosphere of magic and the philosophical reflection of the heroes’ journey. The staging is created as a synthesis of artistic word and musical accompaniment, turning the performance into a major cultural event.
Maria Mironova and Maria Golubkina reinterpret the characters, offering the audience genuine emotions and intonations filled with warmth and meaning. Special attention is given to the theme of passing spiritual values from generation to generation, making the play both relevant and deeply personal.
“The Blue Bird must be naïve, light, joyful, cheerful and ghostly, like a child’s dream”, wrote Stanislavsky. This very spirit is what the creators of the production seek to convey.
This is not just a play – it is a poetic journey where objects come to life, souls speak, and every action is filled with symbolism. The characters travel through the worlds of night, memory, future, and dreams in search of a truth that turns out to be closer than it seems.
The show-concert “The Blue Bird” is an event not to be missed. It appeals to audiences of all ages, evoking childhood memories, faith in kindness, and the pursuit of true happiness.
